APPLE and STRAWBERRY Cobbler

This is a tasty and very affordable dessert, summer time recipes I call them. When it's to hot to cook inside.
This is fruit I got in the mark down ben!!
You don't need prefect fruit for this recipe, because it will be cooked not served fresh!
Save yourself money by checking the markdown food items to save money. Must fruit and veggies can be frozen after you prepare them. This is a recipe you can make in a few minutes and enjoy your family time outside while cooking it on your grill.

Ingredients
- Apples - 3 each, or more
- Strawberries - 1 cup, or more
- Brown sugar - ¾ cup
- Orange Juice - ½ cup
- Ground cinnamon - 1 tbsp or more
- Flour - 2 tbsp
- Ground Nutmeg - ¼ tsp
- COBBLER
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups
- Sugar - ½ cup
- butter or margarine - ½ cup
- Egg - 1 large
- Vanilla - 1 tsp
- Baking powder - 2 tsp
- Sea salt - ½ tsp
- Milk - 1 cup, more if needed
Instructions
You will need a — cast iron pan, outside grill and three rocks, or tin veggie pan for grilling
Wedge apples and add to pan, add strawberries fresh or frozen, brown sugar, 2 tbsp flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Toss together then add orange juice.
Then in a medium bowl add butter or margarine, white sugar or sugar of choice, and mix until creamy.
Then add vanilla, egg, and milk. Continue mixing until blended.
Add sea salt, flour and baking powder, continue mixing until creamy. Add more milk if needed.
Then add mixture on top of apples and strawberries. Spread over evenly or leave in dollops. Sprinkle some cinnamon over top.
Preheat grill/bbq to 350 or 400ºf and then lower grill nobs, keeping the heat in grill.
Put the rocks on the grates before turning on grill to place the pan on.
Then when ready place cast iron pan on rocks, lower lid and set timer to 15 minutes before checking it.
After check and set timer to another 10 minutes to continue baking the dough. Toothpick clean or 190ºf on your cooking thermometer.
Remove from heat with gloves, place on a cork and let set for 5 minutes and serve with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
Turn off grill and enjoy your summer dessert!!!
Bonita’s Tips:
Cook in bbq grill or oven. Baking in oven, preheat oven to 350ºf and bake for 20 to 30 minutes.
Use flour or sugar of choice.

This is my Dad’s cast-iron pan and it’s about 60+ years old. I have used it for many meals over my 9 years owning it, but my Dad would cook on this pan all the time. It is a good investment if you treat yourself to one.
