AUTUMN SLAB PIE
AUTUMN SLAB PIE, made with homemade pastry and the filling is a homemade rhubarb and strawberry jam. Topped with a lemon icing graze.

After you roll out the pastry place on the cookie sheet with a piece of parchment paper and cover with your favourite jam, jelly, apple sauce or apple butter to make a delicious autumn slab pie. Then place the second piece of pastry over top. Pinch together the sides with four fingers to seal the sides….

Roll the second piece of uncooked pastry over top of the filling.

After brush some milk over top of pastry before baking.

Drizzle lemon icing over the hot slab pie before cutting it!!

Before baking the slab pie, brush with milk or cream. Then bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. When baked remove from oven and drizzle with lemon icing recipe posted above.
