BLUEBERRY DOUGHBOY DESSERT

Our old fashion blueberry doughboy dessert is made with fresh or frozen blueberries, and a soft dough that is cooked in with the blueberry sauce. Cook the blueberries, brown sugar, sea salt and water together for about 10 minutes until the sauce gets hot and all the ingredients are cooked.
That is easy enough, now let the blueberry sauce cook for 10 minutes until all combined and sauce is hot and ready to add doughboys.

Ingredients
- BLUEBERRY SAUCE:
- Blueberries - 4 cups, fresh or frozen
- Brown sugar - 1-1/2 cups
- Sea salt - 1/2 tsp
- Water - 1/4 cup
- DOUGHBOYS:
- Flour - 1-1/2 cups
- Butter or margarine - 1/4 cup
- Baking powder - 3 tsp
- Sea salt - 1 tsp
- Milk or Cold water - 1 cup
Instructions
In a medium bowl add flour, baking powder and salt, toss together, then add melted butter.
Add water or milk start mixing with wooden spoon to make a soft dough.
In a medium saucepan add blueberries, brown sugar, sea salt and water, let cook until the berries start to break down and the sauce is hot.
Then drop a tablespoon full of dough into cooked blueberry sauce, cover saucepan with lid and cook for 2 or 3 minutes on one side then flip over and the same on the other.
Bonita’s Tips: Serve hot with thick cream or ice cream, you also can serve in a wafer cup.
Make a ROOT BEER FLOAT!
2 Scoops of vanilla ice cream, then topped with cold root beer.
