BUBBLY FISH BAKE
Hi and welcome to our website!
If you are looking for a tasty fish casserole, this is it!
Our recipe is made with freshly frozen atlantic codfish, but can be made with fish of choice.
Covered in a tasty mushroom sauce and topped with cheese and bread crumbs.
So tasty!
Codfish here in Newfoundland and Labrador is the Queen of our ocean!
Grease your casserole dish of choice, layer with fresh boneless, skinless fish of choice, we love using codfish here in NL but you use what fish your family enjoys....
Mix together cream of mushroom soup, milk, lemon juice and chopped onion, pour over the layer of fish.

Thank you once again for a delicious meal! I wrote in about your Jiggs Dinner.
My Mom and family are from Halifax and I grew up on this dinner, but we just called it Bubbly Bake. I guess we just assumed it had fish in it- lol. It is especially great when I’m feeling nostalgic and need a tasty hug from down home.
I still make it the same way, but we never put the crumbs on top. Great idea, Trixie! I’ll give that a try next time. We also have used other fish (sole, haddock, tilapia etc) with excellent results. Works great with frozen, thawed or fresh fish.
I like to make a ‘donut’ of rice and serve a helping of fish and sauce in the middle. A fresh salad completes the rich and yummy meal.
Thanks for sharing and please keep being you. I love watching your channel!

Love your bubbly fish recipe but I decided to slice some potatoes chop small onion salt pepper and lay fish on top of that squirt some lemon over the fish add your mushroom soup sauce cheese and bread crumbs . It is like scallop potatoes instead of rice. My husband loves it. You have many delicious recipes on here
Hi Kay, That sounds so lovely, I’m so glad you were able to add some more ingredients to make a tasty and affordable meal. Thank you for sharing that with us and for stopping by. 🙂 Bonita
Can I freeze this and if so, how do I reheat it? Thanks
Just delicious and SO EASY. I made it with partially thawed pollock and it was amazing. I’ve made this twice in two weeks. The first time was just for myself and I couldn’t stop talking about it. The second time, I made it for my husband and myself and he wants it in the permanent rotation. Now HE can’t stop talking about it.
Oh my gosh that is so wonderful…I’m so glad Catherine you both enjoy our recipe. I’m sure it can be made with different types of fish that you enjoy eating. Thank you for letting us know and bless you… 🙂 Bonita
Caroline got inspired and made it with haddock and scallops, along with panko breading for the topping. It was wonderful! I love the zesty topping with the onions and creamy mushroom soup. Thank you.
