The seasonings we need for our filling is dill, white pepper, sea salt, onion powder and olive oil.

Ingredients
- CRAB FILLING:
- Cream cheese - 1 pack, 250g
- Crab meat - 1 cup or 230g, cooked or canned
- Sour cream - 1/2 cup
- Mayo or miracle whip - 1/4 cup
- Sea salt - 1/2 tsp
- Dill - 1 tsp fresh or dried
- Onion powder - 1 tsp
- White pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Olive oil - 1 or 2 tbsp
- Egg - 1 each, for brushing pastry tops
- PASTRY:
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups, extra for counter
- Butter or margarine - 1/2 cup, COLD
- Sea salt - 1/2 tsp
- Water - 1/2 cup, COLD
Instructions
METHOD for filling:
- In a bowl add all ingredients, use a food processor or mixer and blend all ingredients together.Adding more oil or seasonings if needed, remove bowl from stand and set aside until you make your pastry.
- METHOD for pastry:
- Mix flour, butter ( chop in pieces) and sea salt together in bowl mix with your hand or kitchen aid when mixed add water mix until it shapes into a ball then remove from bowl/mixer.
- Put a piece of parchment paper on the counter and sprinkle with flour then cut the ball into two pieces then put your pastry ball on top of it then roll until all even.
- Cut out 24 round pieces of dough with cookie cutter or mason jar, set aside to fill with the crab filling.
- Take one tablespoon full of crab filling and put on one side of the pastry dough, fold the dough over filling and use a fork to press the side down to seal the pastry.
- Continue doing this until all crab and pastries are gone, then in a small bowl crack the large egg and whisk together with a fork, brush all the crab pasties.
- Any leftover crab filling add to a oven safe bowl to make a dip and bake with the crab pastries, maybe even 20 minutes more.
- Then put them on a sheet of parchment paper over a 9 x 13 inch cookie sheet.
- Pre-heat the oven to 350ºF and set the timer to 30 minutes, place the crab pastries in the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until light brown.
- Serve with a dipping sauce of choice.
