FRIED PASTRY CONES

If you are looking for a crispy fried pastry to have for a kids birthday party or to make a few finger food appetizer for a family even!!!

After you cut out 4" round pastry shapes, prepare them to fry. You will need a stainless steel round object or tube. This will be for rolling the pastry around the bottom of the tube and pinch the bottom of the pastry together.
Dip into the preheated 350ºF deep fryer of oil!
Then fry each one separate or more then one at a time....until golden brown.
Put the fried pastry cones on a piece of paper towel to drain off any extra oil.....Make a filling of choice or make the filling we have provided.
Cream cheese filling or crab filling!
Make a sweet cream cheese filling and a seasoned crab filling that is made with cream cheese as well!! You can also make a filling of your choice to use these fried pastry cones with.

Ingredients
- PASTRY Dough:
- All- purpose white flour - 2 cups, extra for counter
- Butter or margarine - ½ cup
- Sea salt - ½ tsp
- Water - ½ cup, cold
- Stainless steel tube - 1 or more
- Deep fryer - 1 with oil
- CREAM CHEESE FILLING:
- Cream cheese - ½ - 250g pack
- Butter or margarine - ½ cup
- Vanilla - 1 tsp
- Plain yogurt - ¼ cup or less
- Confectioners sugar - 1 cup, more if needed
- CRAB FILLING:
- Cream cheese - ½ - 250g pack
- Butter or margarine - ¼ cup
- Sour cream - ¼ cup or plain yogurt
- Crab meat - 1 cup, cooked
- Green onion - 1 stick, chopped
- Onion powder - pinch
- Sea salt - pinch
- Pepper - pinch, black or white
- Dill weed - pinch, extra for garnish
Instructions
Method
Mix flour, butter (chop in pieces) and sea salt together in a bowl mix with your hand or mixer with a hook, add water mix with fork until crumbled. Put it on the counter top! Then with your hand shape into a ball.
Put on the counter top and sprinkle with flour, then cut the ball into two pieces. Cover each piece in clear wrap and put in the fridge for 5 or 10 minutes. When ready to use…Remove from fridge and using a rolling pin or bottle, roll your pastry ball until all even, dust with flour.
Roll each ball until it is the same size you would use for a pie crust. Then cut 4” circular shapes.
Using your stainless steel tube or cannoli tube, roll the cut pastry around bottom of tube putting a brush of water to seal one side and if you got more the one stainless steel tubes use it. Preheat deep fryer to 350ºF and deep fry pastries until golden brown, keeping the pastry of tube until finished deep frying. Then remove from fryer and place on a piece of paper towel to remove access oil.
Continue doing this until all pasties cones are fried and kept at room temperature before filling them with filling of choice or use the ones I’ve provided for you..…
Recipe below for a tasty sweet cream cheese filling and crab filling!!!
Method for Cream Filling:
Mix together in a bowl cream cheese, butter and vanilla until smooth, then add confectioner sugar and continue blending until smooth. Then add to a piping bag with a star top. Keep in the fridge until ready to use.
Method for Crab Filling:
Mix together in a bowl cream cheese, butter, sour cream until creamy. Then fold in green onion and crab meat.
Allergens
This is a simple recipe you can make in a few minutes and freeze them until you are ready to use them. If you like to crisp them back up you can put in the oven for a few minutes or air fryer. This tidy little cone is good for a kids birthday party and to make ice-cream cones or fill them with whatever filling you like.
Cooked crab meat, canned crab meat, or you use a filling of choice that is affordable for you.
