Next you will need is your butter, molasses and brown sugar warmed a little and mixed together!! When picking a molasses use the one you enjoy eating, if you use cooking molasses the cake will be darker and if you use a fancy light molasses it will be a little lighter.
Just warm it for 30 seconds to 1 minute in your microwave or stovetop!!
Sift your flour before or during making the cake, add to bowl and slowly mix until combined. Then add your eggs into a small bowl and lightly whisk it then pour into the mixture.
This is a easy cake to make a so tasty!!!
Prepare your bunt pan or two round cake pans with oil or butter, then pour the cake batter into the pan.

Ingredients
- Molasses - 1½ cups
- Brown sugar - 1 cup, packed
- Butter or margarine - ½ cup
- All- purpose flour - 3 cups, sifted
- Fresh or ground ginger - 3½ tsp
- Cinnamon - 3½ tsp
- Eggs - 2 large
- Milk - 1 cup, warmed
- Sea salt - ½ tsp
- Baking powder - 2 tsp
- Baking soda - 2 tsp
Instructions
In a small microwave safe bowl, add molasses, brown sugar and butter then microwave to warm only for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Stir together and pour mixture into a large bowl, then add spices and whisk together until all blended.
After sift in all the dry ingredients, mix together using a whisk or mixer, until all combined. In a small bowl add eggs and whisk together, then add to mixture, whisk together until all combined.
Then add milk to a measuring cup and warm milk in the microwave or stove top, slowly whisk milk in with mixture until all combined and the mixture got a nice texture.
Prepare bunt pan or pan of choice, with oil or butter, then pour all cake mixture into pan. Preheat oven to 350ºF and bake for 50 minutes or less depending on your oven. When ready check by poking a knife of tooth pick into cake then remove from oven.
Place pan on cooling rack for 20 minutes, then remove from pan and continue cooling until room temperature. Make your frosting…..
CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
INGREDIENTS:
1 pack, cream cheese 3 cups, confectionary sugar
½ cup, butter ½ tsp, ginger, fresh or ground
1 tsp vanilla
Method:
In a bowl add cream cheese and butter beat well until combined. After add powdered confectionary sugar mix well, ginger and vanilla.
Continue mixing until creamy, add to ginger bread cake and top with candy ginger or course sugar.

I hope you had a good holiday and Happy New Year! I have put off watching this video. Sometimes I just need to be all cozy in my house to savour what delicious recipe you have for us. When I first saw the molasses in the measuring cup I was so pleased. Because of your recipe for molasses buns I have kept it in the cupboard. I use it tor wheat bread and banana bread.
