Ingredients
- Flour - 4 cups
- Milk - 1 cup
- Butter - 6 tbsp ( melted )
- Eggs - 2 large
- Sea salt - 1/2 tsp
- Sugar - 1/4 cup ( any type ) 1 tsp for yeast
- Active Dry Yeast or Fast Rising - 2 tsp
- Vanilla - 1 tsp
- GLAZE:
- Confectioners Sugar - 2 cups
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Vanilla - 1/2 tsp
Instructions
- In a small bowl add warm milk, 1 tsp sugar, 2 tsp yeast, mix together, then let rise for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl add Flour, leave 1/2 cup to work the dough. sea salt and 1/4 cup granulated sugar toss together.
- In a another bowl add 2 large eggs beat together, then add vanilla, melted butter and whisk together.
- Then after all thats done start mixing everything together.
- Add warm fermented yeast to flour mixture and also add egg mixture all together.
- Start folding all the ingredients together until combined, having a 1/2 cup flour available to help remove any sticky dough.
- Form into a ball and cover for 30 to 45 minutes to rise, after risen remove towel and knead down by fold dough inwards.
- Then place out unto the counter and roll out to 1 inch, or so with rolling pin. Using your doughnut cutter and cut out all the dough and place on a board to rise for another 20 minutes, start your timer at the first cut out doughnut and by the time you cut them all out the first doughnut is ready to fry.
- Then get your fryer ready and at 350ºf with a vegetable or canola oil.
- Start frying 1 or 2 at a time for 1 - 1/2 minutes on each side, remove unto a grate with paper towel at the bottom to drain the doughnuts.
- Make glaze, add in a small bowl all the glaze ingredients and mix together, dip the doughs one at a time and place back on the grate to dry and drip. Use any toppings sprinkles, coconut, chocolate and so on.

I hope you are still excited about making these delicious homemade glazed doughnuts today, not a lot of steps but you will need to have a deep fryer or a stove top SAFE pan to fry them in. After you made all of them you can dip them all of just what you need to have and freeze the rest in a freezer container or bag until needed. Then when you remove for the freezer glaze them and top with your favourite ingredients.
