Ground Beef Pastry Pie
I guess you are looking for a lovely ground beef pastry pie, thats totally delicious and not a ton of work. Look no further this pastry is for you, quick and easy steps and I have a video tutorial available for you to follow and understand the method a little more easier.
Pastry is not hard to make and this is a couple of pictures to steps to do this and I have a simple recipe posted for you as well.

Traditional Newfoundland Blueberry Duff and Caramel Sauce

Ingredients
- PIE FILLING:
- Lean ground beef - 2 pounds or 5 cups
- Onion - 1 medium chopped
- Olive oil - 1 Tbsp
- Carrots - 1-2 medium chopped
- Celery - 2 sticks chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, chopped or minced
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- Sea Salt - as needed
- Black or White Pepper - as needed
- Egg - 1 Large
- Rosemary - 1 Tsp ground
- Corn Starch - 1 Tbsp and 1/3 cup Beef Broth
- Pie Crust:
- Flour - 2 cups
- Butter - 1/2 cup cold
- Sea salt - 1/2 Tsp
- Water - 1/2 cup
Instructions
Ground Beef Pastry Pie:
Heat oven to 400°F. Homemade pie crust or store bought, using 9-inch glass pie plate.
- In 12-inch skillet, cook beef removing any oil and part cooked on medium heat, then add salt, ground rosemary and pepper, chopped carrots, celery and onion.
- Then add 1/3 cup beef broth over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is thoroughly cooked.
- Stir cornstarch into beef mixture until mixed. Stir and cook for another few minutes over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until hot.
- Spoon into crust-lined pie plate. Top with second crust; seal edge and pinch together.
- Cut slits in several places in top crust; place on cookie sheet in oven to help from spilling in oven.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
Let stand 5 minutes before cutting, serve with gravy if deserved.
HOMEMADE PASTRY:
- Mix flour, butter ( chop in pieces) and salt together in bowl mix with your hand or food processor when mixed add water mix until it shapes into a ball then remove from bowl/mixer.
- Put a piece of parchment paper on the counter and sprinkle with flour then cut the ball into two pieces then put your pastry ball on top of it then roll until all even.
- If you are only making one pie crust, roll the other on parchment paper then cover with a piece of clear wrap and roll away from your. Then freeze for another use.
Allergens
You can also use half lean ground beef and half regular and drain any extra oil from beef before adding vegetables. This is a lovely and quick and easy ground beef pastry pie recipe and so delicious, you can serve with a homemade gravy if deserved.
