If you are looking for a tasty recipe for making a meat and biscuit roll, you are in the right place.
This is an old recipe my Mom and her Mom would make from only a few simple ingredient's and serve with gravy and boiled veggies.

Lean ground beef is the choice of meat, but if you only got regular ground beef cook off the oil and then remove it and continue adding chopped onions and seasonings of choice.



Fry the lean ground beef before you make this recipe to have it at room temperature or fridge temp before using it.

Ingredients
- All - purpose flour - 1 cup
- Baking powder - 2 tsp
- Sea salt - ½ tsp
- Butter or shortening - 4 tbsp
- Milk - ¼ cup
- Lean ground beef - 1½ cups, cooked
- Egg - 1 large
- Katchup - 1 tbsp
Instructions
Method:
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl, then add shortening or butter. Work all ingredients together until crumbled.
Add milk and mix together to make a soft dough.
Then lightly flour your counter top and roll out dough to form a rectangle ½ inch thick.
Then combine in a bowl your cooked lean ground beef, ketchup and in a small bowl add your egg and whisk together before adding it to the other ingredients.
Toss together with a spoon and spread over the dough and roll it out like a jelly roll.
Preheat oven to 375ºf and bake for 25 minutes. When baked let rest for 5 minutes before cutting in slices.
Serve with mashed potatoes, veggies and gravy.
Bonita’s TIPS:
Use ground turkey, chicken, pork or beef for this recipe.
Make a quick gravy, cornstarch, beef broth, water and seasonings.
You can substitute ketchup for another sauce, like..HP, tomato sauce or hot sauce or leave it out.
When cooking the lean ground beef, add chopped onions, chopped peppers, sea salt, pepper and onion powder to have a lovely taste to it.

After the meat and biscuit roll is baked, remove from oven and let set for 5 minutes to rest and then cut in 2 inch pieces. Serve with gravy or on its own.
