I want to make bread using a full 7 lb bag of flour. I don’t have active dry yeast packs of Fleishmans yeast as I couldn’t get it. Instead I have a bottle of it. So how much yeast do I use. I’m confused. Thanks for your help
Hi Sheila, I’m thinking I just answered you on another message but I will share it here with you as well, making the full bag can be more work and will make a nice few loafs of bread. You don’t need a lot of yeast because it will smell and taste yeasty, before you get started can you make half first and then the other half, just asking. If you wish to make the full bag still only use about two tablespoons yeast, double your butter to 1/2 cup, sugar 4 tablespoons, sea salt to 1 1/2 tsp, double your warm water 6 to 8 cups more if needed. All the best but making a smaller batch will be better because you haven’t made it in a while. I will share my recipe for 3 loafs if you wish to check it out. https://youtu.be/rtGXjnhfGRA Enjoy Bonita
I would like the printed version of the Newfoundland white bread.
Thanks for posting your site….
