ORANGE SQUARES

I'm excited to share with you an old fashion recipe for orange squares.
Our recipe is made with fresh navel orange juice and zest, its so tasty!
Start with making your crumble base and then put in a 13x9x2 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake in a 350ºf oven for 10 minutes.
After start making the orange filling, while your crumble crust is baking, when ready pour orange mixture over the top of the baked crust.
After bake for another 20 minutes in a 350ºf oven, when baked remove from oven and let cool to room temperature and top with dustings of confectionary sugar and orange zest.

Ingredients
- All-Purpose Flour - 2¼ cups
- Confectionary sugar - 1/2 cup, extra for garnish
- Butter or margarine - 1 cup
- Eggs - 4 large
- Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- Ground almonds - 1/2 cup
- Orange zest - 3 tsp
- Orange juice - 1/4 to 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
Instructions
- Preheat oven 350°f
In large bowl combine 2 cups of flour, grounded almonds, confectioner sugar and 1 tsp orange zest. Cut 1 cup butter in cubes over top of ingredients start to work together until mixture is crumbled, or put all ingredients in food processor to mix.
- Press evenly into the bottom of a 13x9x2 inch baking pan, bake 10 minutes, or until light brown.
- In large bowl, whisk sugar, eggs, orange juice, 2 tsp orange zest. Combine 1/4 cup flour and baking powder then add to sugar mixture and whisk together, pour evenly over baked crust.
- Bake again in a 350° oven for 15 to 20 minutes or lightly browned. When baked remove from heat let cool to room temperature, cut in squares and sprinkle top with confectioners sugar, more orange zest.
- Put orange squares in a container with lid and store in the fridge or freeze for longer storage, only put at room temperature when ready to serve.
Prep time: 10 minutes, bake time: 30 minutes.

Allergens
Remove the orange squares from pan with parchment paper and place on a cooling rack to cool to room temperature, cut in small or large squares and place in a container with lid. Then store in the fridge or freezer for longer storage. When ready to serve them only take out what you need and keep the rest sealed for freshness.
Serve these tasty orange squares with a hot cup of tea, then top with a confectionary sugar and orange zest to jazz it up.
