Partridgeberry Pickles
Hi and Welcome to our website!
Are you looking for PARTRIDGEBERRY PICKLES if so you are in the right place, we have a recipe and full tutorial on how to make these delicious homemade partridgeberry pickles.
The texture will remind you of a relish or jam but in all respect its a homemade partridgeberry pickle.
You can have these with a hot and savoury meal or a cold slice of bread or cracker, thats how lovely they are. My husband loves them on his burger instead of a pickle or relish. To each there own my dad would say, you almost need to taste it to see where you would like to serve it.
I'm sure you may need a little more convincing but if so you can watch our 10 minute video tutorial on how to make our partridgeberry pickles and what to serve it with. Thank you once again for stopping by and please continue on to our recipe and video. 🙂 Bonita

Here in Newfoundland and Labrador we have many berries you can pick, having them in the freezer, jars or fridge over the winter months makes us very happy. Having jams, jellies, pickles and relishes is the way to go and its all freshly made by you, yourself to share with your family and friends for meals or gifts.
The longer you cook the mixture the more condensed the pickles will be, less time cooking you will see the onions and partridgeberries mixture. Sweet and sour is the taste and the texture is soft and tender, it goes well with so many different meals. These pickles go well with a cracker as well, but its not a jam its a delicious homemade partridgeberry pickles.

I have ordered Saskatoon berry pie filling online, and shipped to me at home. Where can I buy partridge berry pie filling from NFLD if there is such a thing.
Hi Richard: Thank you for your message and for stopping by, partridgeberries are usually in the fall about October/November and they are fully ripe. I’m not sure where you would buy them to be shipped but they are very close to the cranberry if you are looking for a replace that berry. I’m not sure where you live but in Cambridge ON there is a market called Stoyles Seafood Market and they supple not only seafood from the east coast they supple different foods and berries. I can share that info with you if you are in Canada. Thank you 🙂 Bonita

Hi Vandi: Thank you for your message and for stopping by. That would work lovely and taste almost the same, cranberries are apart of the partridgeberry family only bigger. Enjoy Bonita
Hey Bonita,
Made a batch of these pickles in January. Cant get a mason jar wide enough to get the shovel down to scoop it out. They are super delicious. I put it on fried fish, salt fish cakes (yum), and pork. BBQ season is starting soon, so I’m doing a double batch tomorrow. Thanks for the recipe!
Hi Bill: Oh my this is the best message I have ever received in the 7 years of Bonita’s Kitchen. Thank you so much for making and enjoying our Partridgeberry pickles recipe. Also for sharing your lovely message with us, enjoy to the fullest and stay safe. Bonita
Hi Bonita, I travelled to Labrador and Newfoundland in September/October 2024 . Saw lots of people picking partridgeberries along the sides of roads and in fields. There was a lady who owned the Viking RV park and one of the mornings she made partridgeberry muffins for us. That is where the love affair for partridgeberries began! Before we left to go home I purchased 2 gallons of partridgeberries and froze them. I’ve made muffins and scones and today I made your partridgeberry pickle to have on Christmas day with our turkey dinner. Our home smells incredible! Of course I had to taste some…soooo good. Can’t wait for Christmas dinner. Thank you Bonita for all your lovely recipes and have a very Merry Christmas. 🙂
Hi Catherine, Thank you so much for your lovely message and for stopping by…how wonderful for you to get some of those delicious partridgeberries. Anything partridgeberry for me and I’m sure I can eat it everyday. Well today we will be posting a Partridgeberry Meringue dessert for a Christmas Day dessert. It is indeed a delicious dessert and one you will make again and again. I hope you have a few partridgeberries left to give it a try. Bless you and your family and thank you for visiting our great Province and have a Merry Christmas. Bonita
