Start by putting a layer of crackers in a grass dish and top with vanilla pudding, whipped cream and then repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used. You can use a square grass pan or a rectangle grass pan or a pan or dish of choice.
Then its served with a delicious tart berry sauce, this is so good.
This is a lovely dessert for any occasion I'm thinking it will be a crowd pleaser, continue on to the recipe and a little story I shared about why I made this dessert and the reason I called it Pat's Flaky Dessert.

Pat’s Flaky Dessert this is so delicious and I can’t say enough wonderful things about it, I’m not the founder of this dessert but I will take the credit for bringing it to you. My friend Pat made this delicious dessert for her husbands birthday party and thats where we first tasted it.
Pat said to me” I don’t know what the name of the dessert is all I know its sounds like flaky dessert” when I asked her what the name of her dessert was and can I have the recipe. She did give me the verbal recipe, then I said can I make it on Bonita’s Kitchen and I will call it Pat’s Flaky Dessert. She was ok with that so here it is, I have a video tutorial and a written recipe for you to make and enjoy for years to come.
Can you believe one of the ingredients is unsalted soda crackers. 🙂 I have only had these crackers with my soup and with butter spread over them.
This is not a sweet dessert!
This is a lovely creamy vanilla flavour dessert with a little something in between, the soda crackers. 🙂
I’m going to share with you another delicious recipe from another friend called Isabel’s Dessert.

Thanks for this recipe! I’ve been looking for it all over after having it at a baby shower.
Hi Robin: You are very welcome and thank you for finding us, and for your interest in this delicious dessert. Enjoy and have a lovely day…:) Bonita
I actually first had this, 20 years ago at my Brother In Law’s wedding, out in Saskatchewan. It was in a small town, but there were 300 people, and the ladies there who were friends with the Bride cooked the entire dinner and the desserts.
And when we were done with dinner we went for dessert! And I picked out this flaky dessert, for my husband and I and we thought it was gourmet!!
You can put whatever toppings on it, or have it on its own. I made it to bring to my friends house this Christmas with fresh strawberries! And a a cherry glaze!
Big HIT.
I will get back to her on the origin of the recipe. Because it’s been around for years!
Some smart woman came up with it on a pinch I’m
