If you are looking for a delicious batch of SODA BREAD you are in the right place, I have a recipe here that will be your go to recipe every time you are expecting company.
Look at our delicious soda bread dough, with the right amount of raisins or you can have this recipe plain. I always love to have some available for company or enjoying with a cup of tea.

Ingredients
- White flour - 4 cups, more for folding dough
- Evaporated Whole Milk - 1 - 3/4 cups
- Butter - 4 tbsp, cold
- White Sugar - 2 tbsp
- Raisins - 1 cup ( optional )
- Sea salt - 1 tsp
- Egg - 1 large
- Vanilla - 1 tsp
- Baking soda - 1 tsp
Instructions
Method:
- In a large bowl add all dry ingredients, and raisins toss together.
- Then add COLD butter cubes, pinch together with hand or masher
- Make a hole in the middle of mixture and add evaporated milk, then add vanilla and slightly beaten egg.
- Mix together with wooden spoon and then knead together with hand.
- Dust counter with flour and add dough, cut in four pieces and shape into a dough ball or all one loaf.
- In a square pan or pan of choice grease with butter, add four dough ball pieces of your soda bread dough.
- Pre-heat oven to 375º bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown, depending on your oven.
Baking Tips:
- Raisins are optional if you wish to have plain soda bread.
- Use parchment paper at the bottom of pan for easy removal and prevent burning.
- Put a touch of butter in each corner of pan under parchment paper to keep paper down.
Serve with soup or jams and jellies with butter
