Plus its got lots of freshly chopped vegetables like, red and green bell peppers, celery and white onion to put a flavour on this meal like you won't believe. Also its got a HOMEMADE SWEET & SOUR SAUCE, and most of these ingredients are already in your fridge. Everyone loves to have their supper made for them by someone else or by, why not a slow cooker or pressure cooker. But having a slow cooker to do your work for you a few times a week, who don't like that. This recipe is so delicious and super easy to make, plus it is ready when you walk in your door after a long and hard day at work. Ingredients
- Chicken Thighs - 6 or 12, skinless bone in.
- Bell Peppers - 1 each, any colour chopped
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Onion Powder - 1 tsp
- Garlic Powder - 1/2 tsp or fresh garlic
- SWEET & SOUR SAUCE:
- Water - 1 1/2 cups
- Vinegar - 1/2 cup
- Ketchup - 6 tbsp
- Brown sugar - 1 cup
- Sea salt - 1/2 tsp
- Cornstarch - 2 tbsp
- Red Food Colouring - 2 drops, optional
Instructions
Sweet & Sour Slow Cooked Chicken Thighs Method:
- In a medium saucepan add all sweet and sour ingredients except the cornstarch.
- Bring sauce to a rolling boil and mix together your cornstarch and 1/4 cup water then add to saucepan continue stirring.
- Turn slow cooker on low if you are working for 8 hours or High if you are home and like to check every now and then.
- Rinse your chicken thighs then put skinless chicken thighs in the bottom of your slow cooker, pour sweet and sour sauce over chicken.
- Then top with all your chopped peppers, onions and seasonings.
- Make sure your slow cooker is on a safe surface, when cooked after 8 or less hours serve with steamed rice or side dish of choice.
