Traditional Newfoundland Old Fashion Trifle
This delicious Traditional Old Fashion Trifle is so easy to made, it got a layer of cream cheese, whipped cream and sponge cake. Another layer of vanilla pudding, then a can of mixed fruit cocktail, topped off with whipped cream....so delicious!
I love making simple desserts, I can remember when I was young and my mom would make one of these dessert almost every Sunday. Now some of the ingredients was a little different, she would make a cake mix, not sponge cake, and dream whip with fresh cow milk. But anyway you make this dessert you will love it.
Remember to make this trifle your own and layer it anyway you like and use whatever fruit or whipped cream. I have a video with step by step instructions on how to make this delicious trifle if you need any help.

Traditional Newfoundland Layered Lemon Cake

Ingredients
- Can Fruit Cocktail - 1 Can
- Whipped Cream - 1 PK.
- Sponge Cake - 1 Cake
- Vanilla Pudding - 1 Box
- Powdered Icing Sugar - 1/2 Cup
- Cream Cheese - 1 Pack
Instructions
Method for Old Fashion Trifle:
1.Mix together in a small bowl, your cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and juice from your cocktail fruit.
2 In another bowl mix together your instead pudding, following the instructions on the box.
3 Cut the sponge cake in small pieces.
4 Mix your whipped cream until fluffy or open a container of cool whip.
5 Now you will need a large glass bowl to display your beautiful trifle in.
6 Starting with your cream cheese, add half of your whipped cream in the bowl and fold together, after add your sponge chopped cake and fold that with your cream cheese and whipped cream.
7 Then in the large glass bowl layer your ingredients, half of your cream cheese mixture at the bottom, then a layer of vanilla pudding, the other half of your cream cheese mixture, then all your fruit cocktail evenly spreading it in the bowl.
8 After top with whipped cream and then you can sprinkle anything over the top or just leave it.
