Traditional Newfoundland Salmon with Molasses Sauce
My mouth is watering while I'm writing this blog looking at this delicious fillet of salmon, what a better way to say I Love You then with this romantic meal.

Atlantic Salmon with Molasses Sauce
If you don't believe me just give this recipe a try and then you can tell me what you think. I always say if I only had a scratch and sniff icon on my site so you can smell how lovely this meal is.
Helpful Hints:
Never over cook salmon having it a little pink and it will flake apart is prefect. After frying it set aside and let it rest for a few minutes covered or uncovered is great.

deglazing your pan with white wine, balsamic vinegar, and molasses after you have fried the salmon and apples will give you this delicious sauce you can dip your bread in to soak up all the rich goodness.
Serve with rice and freshly chopped carrots and a glass of white wine, or apple cider. Then for dessert a homemade Vanilla Custard Pudding, made with only a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients
- Salmon Fillets - 2 pieces skin on
- Apples - 2 each
- White Wine - 1 Cup
- Molasses - 1/4 Cup
- Balsamic Vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- Butter or Margarine - 2 Tbsp
- Olive Oil - 1 Tbsp
- Lemon Wedges - 3
- Sea Salt - Pinch
- Black Pepper - Pinch
Instructions
1- Heat a large cast iron pan or pan of choice, add 1 tbsp butter, olive oil and 2 pieces of salmon skin down fry until skin starts to brown, season with pinch salt and pepper and a pinch of lemon fry for 2-3 minutes on that side, flip over to fry for 1-2 minute on this side.
2- Remove from pan cover until ready to serve.
3- In same pan add another tbsp butter keep on medium heat and add the apple wedges and fry for a couple minutes on both sides.
4- When apples are fried remove from pan seat aside.
5- Deglaze frying pan with a cup of white wine, the add two tbsp balsamic vinegar after add your molasses.
6- Continue cooking until sauce is rich and creamy.
7- Plate Atlantic salmon then top with molasses sauce, serve with vegetables of choice.
