TURKEY MEATLOAF with TOMATOES

Todays recipe for turkey meatloaf is one we love making from time to time for a change from ground beef.
This is a tasty and affordable meal, plus very heathy.

Sliced tomato shredded cheese and basil is three ingredients you would top this turkey meatloaf with the last 10 to 15 minutes of baking.

Use mixer to incorporate the ingredients or by hand, you can wear plastic glove, this is a messy mixture. Then use spatula to form log of turkey meatloaf in bread pan or meatloaf pan. Use a sheet of parchment paper for the inside of the pan.

Ingredients
- Ground turkey - 2 Pounds
- Onion - 1 medium, grated
- Egg - 1 large
- Stale bread crumbs or rolled oats - ¾ cup, more if needed
- Sea salt - ½ tsp
- Black or White Pepper - 1 tsp
- Savoury or Summer Savoury - 1 tsp, or sage
- Pasta or Tomato Sauce - ½ cup
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tbsp
- Tomato - 1 sliced
- Shredded cheese - 1 cup, of choice
- Basil - 1 tbsp, fresh, ground or dried
Instructions
In a large bowl add ground turkey, grated onion, stale bread crumbs or oats. Sea salt, pepper, egg and mix together with wooden spoon or mixer.
Then add savoury, pasta sauce and Worcestershire sauce and continue folding together.
After form into a log and transfer into a meatloaf pan or 9 x 5 bread pan lined with parchment paper.
Preheat oven to 350ºf and place the meatloaf in oven and bake for 50 minutes, then remove from oven and top with cheese, sliced tomato and basil, put back to the oven and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes or until the internal temperature is 165 to 170ºF, until brown or melted cheese.
Remove from oven and let rest for 10 before removing it from the pan by parchment paper of handles from meatloaf pan….
Serve with fresh rolls and mashed potatoes and veggies.
