See where I'm going with this, so why not check out our recipe so you will know the ingredients and then set and watch our short video. Maybe make yourself a cup of tea and then you will be so relaxed and ready to make your turkey neck soup. 🙂

Ingredients
- Turkey necks - 2 or 3 or more
- Salt Beef - 1 piece, chucked
- Carrots - 4 peeled and chopped
- Turnip/rutabaga - 1 peeled and chopped
- Parsnip - 1 peeled and chopped
- Potato - 2 or 3 peeled and chopped
- Celery sticks - 3 chopped
- Onion - 1 peeled and chopped
- Tomato Soup - 1 can, plus rise with broth
- Rice - 1/4 cup or choice
- Pepper - 1 tsp
- Fresh Thyme or ground - 1 tbsp or more
- Beef Broth or stock - 8 to 12 depending on your boiler
Instructions
Method:
Soak the salt beef over night in a bowl of cold water. In a large boiler start the boiling on your turkey necks half full of water or stock/broth.
Drain the water off salt beef, then add beef to boiler with turkey necks and pepper, cook for 20 to 30 minutes on a medium heat, covered. Stirring occasionally and removing any foam from the top of the boiler and tossing.
Chop all your vegetables in small pieces then add to boiler with turkey necks and salted beef, cook for another 20 minutes.
The last 10 minutes of cooking your soup add rice and tomato soup, if you don’t like tomato soup leave it out. Continue cooking for another 10 minutes and your soup is ready.
Serve with fresh rolls or sandwiches.
Bonita’s Tips:
Please note, if you don't use salt beef use 1 tbsp sea salt to seasoned and salt the soup. You can use a ham bone or pieces of ham if us don't use sea salt because ham is salty.
Rinsing tomato soup can gets all the soup to use, no waste.
I love making soups for my family and it is comfort food at its best, thats for sure.
We have many soup recipes here on our website if you wish to check them out, I will share a couple of links as well.
You don’t have to wait for your Christmas turkey to make this soup, all you need is a few turkey necks.
The next time you visit your grocery store ask the butcher in the meat department to cut some up for you in small pieces. This is a delicious soup and you can bottle some and keep in your fridge for a few weeks to enjoy whenever you need a bowl of soup.
Having soups ready to warm anytime of the day or year, is like going out for dinner at your local restaurant.
You don’t have to put salt beef in this soup but here in Newfoundland and Labrador we love salt beef or salt pork in ours soups.
So if you got access to that you can use it, if you don’t have access to salt beef use sea salt or a ham bone. Don’t forget to leave us a message before you go, I would love to know how you found us and if you enjoyed our recipe today.
I will share a couple more soups for you to check out.

I know that you rely on adds for revenue, but this one is ridiculous! I could barely read the recipe and had to continuously scroll back up when the screen would automatically jump to an add…very frustrating 🙁
